5 Inspiring Books on How to Find Your Passion
I am a huge fan of life-long learning and where is the best place to learn how to find your passion? Books about finding your passion of course!
I have not yet got to every book on this list but I thought I would share my reading list with you to help you in your passion finding journey.
Advice to remember when starting a how to find your passion journey
I think the most important thing to remember when you start on a quest to find your passions or any personal growth journey, is to be kind to yourself.
You will probably have to try a lot of different things, and some of them might not fit. But, that’s OK! I have lost count of the number of things I have tried in my efforts to find what I am truly passionate about. I am still on this path.
Some people just know what it is they love and some people don’t. That’s the way it is.
I used to get very frustrated and feel lazy or useless because nothing would stick. Sometimes that thing is just not your passion and you have to know when to let it go and move onto the next thing. This is not always an easy decision. We don’t like to feel like failures.
Remember you are not a failure if you move on to something new that engages you more.
You also must remember that even when you find your passion there are still going to be ups and downs. It’s not always sunshine and rainbows when you find that magic thing that captures your heart.
I constantly remind myself 'Nothing truly good is ever easy'.
Everything comes with a challenge. You have to decide what challenges you want to take on.
New passions also come with a, often steep, learning curve. There are going to be days where you love it and days where you struggle.
How do you know when it is time to let it go or keep striving for greatness?
When the downs outweigh the ups. Do you feel overwhelmed with joy when you overcome a challenge when working on your passion project? Overall, do you get more satisfaction and joy from it than you are left upset, annoyed or disappointed?
If the downs outweigh the ups over the long term then maybe you should move on to something new. Do not think of this as a defeat think of this as opening up more of your time to find what you truly love.
Do you struggle to hold yourself accountable when you are starting something new?
